Remote Access Problems

Recommended Posts

I have a SENTIENT N09JJ DVR which I bought from Maplin - does anyone know how I can find out the direct video path for this unit? - I am trying to connect remotely to it using Blue Iris software on my laptop, but I am unable to to determine the required configuration? - (incidentally I have managed to successfully configure MeyePro on my iPhone though - using just IP/DDNS, port number, and user-name/password? - so it is technically possible with the unit) but Blue Iris also requires its HTTP Port, and/or RTSP Port, together with video path & params? - there is quite a large list of predefined IP Cams/DVRs available in the tool, for which the path & params are automatically populated, but unfortunately the SENTIENT N09JJ DVR is not in the List?

Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks in advance

Trevor

Hi i am clarkep

i can maybe help with this problem the first thing you need to do is go to your dvr's menu screen and locate the network part on the menu and find where it says the http port as you will need this also if their are any other port numbers you will need those to you will also need the external ip address of your router this can be found by going to http://www.whatsmyipaddress.org you then go to your routers gateway page and port forward all the ports listed under the network part on the menu of your dvr and port forward the ports to your dvr after that is done you then go to internet explorer and enable three activex controls under the security settings on internet explorer then once that is done you then type in your external ip address as follows (eg) http://213.139.69.221:put http port number here followed by/ then press enter a drop down box should appear below the tool bars at the top of the screen you then click it and download the activex controls you enabled earlier you will then see 4 small blank screens on your computer screen like the one in the example below you then click on the icon to the left of the hammer and i login box appears just login with your dvr's login info and the external ip and tick the socket port tick box and then click ok and the cameras will appear. if you need help email me on peterclarke1989@hotmail.com

Thank you for responding...

I have determined the relevant PORT number and IP address etc., however I do not know how to establish the directory path to the video feed on the N09JJ DVR - I have successfully got this working on my iPhone using mEyePro, however this just worked after entering the IP address & port number (together with the number of cameras on the device - ie. 4), but Blue-Iris also requires the path to the video feed, and a parameter for which camera the feed is for - how do I find this information (is there a generic path?)??

Regards

Trevor
