vin2install 0 Posted April 11, 2011 I have a client where they want to put a PTZ over an existing fixed camera install. They have Siamese coax ran to the camera location. Is there any way to get RS-485 controls without having to run an extra 18-2 wire? Thanks guys

Thanks guys Hi vin2install. you could use one of these and run your power/video/audio down the coax and that will leave the siamese power to use as your PTZ control. http://www.foresight-cctv.com/Manaul-PDF/VDS%20Single%20Coaxial%20Cable%20Transmission/VDS2100-2200-Manual.pdf
Soundy 1 Posted April 11, 2011 Or get cameras and a controller that support Coaxitron (or other control-over-coax protocol). Lots of threads here about it...
SDM Group 0 Posted April 13, 2011 Pelco, Infinova and Panasonic do control up the coax, would have to buy matching keyboard or coaxitron producing equipment such as Pelco MPT 9000.
