Darryl-in-Jersey 0 Posted April 13, 2011 I have a Panasonic BB-HCM531A outdoor camera. My customer is worried about vandalism. Does anybody have any idea how I can protect this camera? I can't seem to find a protective covering for this particular camera. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thank you, Darryl
Birdman Adam 0 Posted April 13, 2011 Is there a vandal-proof option? Only thing I can think of! Maybe if you mounted it in a corner, you could fit a plexiglass cover over it, and fasten to the walls?
Darryl-in-Jersey 0 Posted April 14, 2011 I thought so too, but my customer seems to want a protective cover manufactured by Panasonic. It does not exist. The customer is 600 miles away so I need to be sure what I'm putting up before I drive there. Hopefully they'll go for the plexi-glass idea! Thanks, Darryl
Numb-nuts 1 Posted April 23, 2011 Explain that Pansonic make the cameras not the hardware that is left to other companies. What about a wire mesh cage on a wall hinge like the following. You can always remove a section and replace with the plexiglass for unhindered viewing. I have installed three of these and found a spray with mat black paint eliminates any trouble with stray reflections on a sunny day. I haven't even had any spiders webs to speak of. It doesn't stop pigeons roosting though. If vandals throw eggs it breaks them up a treat. Omelet anyone?
