Soundy 1 Posted April 14, 2011 If the lens is an auto-iris type, it could be that the lens is stuck wide-open, so the picture is washing out in the daylight.
dodgevan 0 Posted April 14, 2011 Checked the lens that is ok.
dodgevan 0 Posted April 18, 2011 Replaced the lens and i still have a white screen in the day ok at night.
tomcctv 190 Posted April 18, 2011 Replaced the lens and i still have a white screen in the day ok at night. could be a bad negitive connection. (-) re do all your ends. and also check what power you have at camera end.
forbus 0 Posted April 18, 2011 Maybe the cameras sensor is malfunctioning, not being to tell the lens it is receiving sufficient light. So, the camera might be bad.
dodgevan 0 Posted April 18, 2011 Tried another camera checked cables all is ok. Could it be the card ?

I changed the camera Tried another lens Changed the cable Changed the Baulns Took out the card and tried that in another computer. And i still have a white screen in the day fine when it starts to go dusk . The only bit that has not been changed is the board so i am wondering if its duff. dodgevan 0 Posted August 6, 2011 I am still having problems with white screen. Tried just about everything. Any ideas ?
rory 0 Posted August 6, 2011 and other types of cameras also experience this, or just this camera? Seems like a bad or inadequate camera. If it has any settings try switching it to Electronic Iris (EI or EL)
dodgevan 0 Posted August 6, 2011 Have tried different cameras. The camera i am useing is a Baxell with Ernitec zoom lens
tomcctv 190 Posted August 6, 2011 If you have changed everything i.e camera/lens/baluns/cable then it can only point to one thing. camera settings on DVR. on the nv5000 under camera settings at bottom left you will see boxes ...noise reduction / auto brightness control and night view. pick your camera from your camera list at the top that has the problem. then un tick all boxes noise reduction / auto brighness / night view. and then set the brightness and contrast from the slide bar till your image is right. remember to click OK at the end. Its worked fine for a few years till now. then i would go back to my first post about power. at the camera end. disconnect the camera and put a meter across + and - on your power and i think you will see 0 volts. then put 1 prob on power + and the other prob on the outter of your BNC and you will get 12volt. i think your power supply is giving + (pos) and nothing from - (neg)

I appreciate your help. I am running an avermedia nv5000 card with baxall camera and ernitec 6.90 motorized lens.. a baxhall and a motorized 90m lens will need more than 1 amp to run. are you also controlling the lens ? dodgevan 0 Posted August 6, 2011 No i am not useing any power to control the lens.
rory 0 Posted August 6, 2011 it points to the Iris. When the Iris is stuck open to a point it will let in too much light, so in the day it is whiteout. Ive seen this many times. First thing to do, if the camera has Electronic Iris change it to that. If it still does it then there is something wrong with the camera and it needs to be replaced. As you said you changed the lens and its still doing it, if its an Auto Iris lens, with the Iris mechanism built into the lens, it would be rare that 2 lenses would be sticking, so could be the Auto Iris module on the camera is bad, meaning bad camera. Or its just not providing enough power to the lens.
tomcctv 190 Posted August 6, 2011 No i am not useing any power to control the lens. motorized 90m lens and you have no control ??? how are you controlling the iris ?? if you are not using the controls then you should have a ernitec cable addaptor between the lens and the camera that has manual iris control pots. do you have a standard lens to try ? dodgevan 0 Posted August 6, 2011 I am setting the lens up with a 9v battery once focused that will be it.
