2x NV8416 playback issue

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

i got a big playback issue with my Avermedia 32 CH configuration :

Core I7 950

MB : GA-X58-USB3

RAM 4Go

Nvidia 9600 GT 1Go

software version : 7.7.0.0055 with 2 x NV8416

1 HDD for OS ( Win 7 pro 32 ) and 1 HDD for data record ( both a Seagate SV35 )

the 2 Avermedia card seems to work fine, in live mode there is no issue.

I setup the recording for the 32 CH in D1 / 25 FPS and when i playback the issue happen :

if i playback 1 CH or 4 CH, it work fine.

if i playback 9 CH or more i got 1 FPS on each CH.

i have tested with 1 NV8416 card, it is the same

i have tested with 1 NV6416 card, it is the same

if someone can help me or have an idea...

thx a lot

Where do you record your files? If you have a single 5400rpm kind of HDD it may be a little slow for this. Let me know how your HDD setup is, it may help diagnose it further.

i'm using 2 HDD, the first for OS and the second for data recording.

both are 7200 rpm (Seagate SV35)

i have called Avermedia France and they have the same issue in there Based PC DVR.

Hi hackerjack. you may find its down to the managment of the dvr. running 32 cameras at 25fps. your system is doing alot of prossesing at that rate. are you also on record only or are you on motion.

you need to sit at your system and do a bit of managment. as in ........ look at cameras in some areas you need good FPS set them to 12-15fps (you will see no differance from 25fps) areas with little traffic set them to 8 - 10 fps and set your dvr to motion record (your dvr has pre and post alarm) so you dont need to be on full record. doing this will half you prossesing power.

which card are you using ... nv8416e4 or nv8416t

Hi Tomcctv,

thx for you'r reply,

this is not a real problem because i can playback camera one bye one or in quad mod and i have the 25 FPS in D1.

downgrade FPS and resolution is a good solution for most of my customer but some of them want 25fps in D1 on each camera.

for capture card type i dont know if its 8416e4 or nv8416t

what's the difference between this two card ?

thx a lot,

downgrading your fps will have nothing to do with resolution. running a dvr at 15fps than 25fps you will see no differance.

yes,

but the problem is that some customer want 25 FPS in D1 because the card can do that.

i know 12 fps is enough, the French law want 12 FPS in D1 identification camera and 6 FPS in CIF for other camera.

but customer want maximum the card can do...
