hukadarn 0 Posted April 18, 2011 Hello !! Recently I acquired a WATEC 902h2 Ultimate, my purpose for the camera is the observation and recording of meteors and other astronomical transient phenomena . The lens I use is not ideal for her, it's a Fujinon 1/3 2.9-8mm F/0.95, but as I intend to use focal lengths of 8 and 6 mm I can avoid the "tunnel effect". This lens is used among observers of meteors without problems. I purchased a converter "Canopus ADVC 55". I connect it to the camera through an BNC/RCA adapter and conect it to my computer by a firewire cable ( 6 pins ). Apparently everything was right to work properly but when I acquire the first images that were like these: Please, someone knows what can be wrong, how I can acquire perfect images ???? I'm desperate ! Thanks in advanced !
Soundy 1 Posted April 18, 2011 The "tunnel effect" is caused by using a 1/3" lens on a 1/2" sensor. Use a 1/2" lens and you can avoid that. Catch is, finding a wider (<6mm), 1/2", The images look to me like a video-standard mismatch - either your camera is set for PAL and your capture device uses NTSC, or vice-versa.
