bob the b 0 Posted June 28, 2005 Been trying to work out using two monitors from a Geo pc,set the graphics card up for 2 monitors, went into gv system and used the dmpos exe. to configure it also. Worked but quality of second monitor was poor. What im after is to put this pc in a loft and run a cable to a lcd monitor which is connected to my main pc.It has lots of inputs spare dvi , s-video phono etc even rgb. The loft pc can be used as a single monitor as it will be controlled by a geo ir remote using a cat5 usb extender, so im looking for the cheapest (or best) way to extend it about 70 feet away from the monitor. If using the s-video only out of the graphic card through a s-vid to phono adapter give me good screen quality or is it best to run a vga that distance
baywatch 1 Posted June 29, 2005 There are a few ways. 1 using a VGA down cat5 extrender, you can run 2 x monitors local & 2 x monitors remote all vga. 2 using a TV out box such as the Avermedia to send the picture to a normal cctv monitor. 3 Long vga cable o.k. if its all in false ceiling etc but can be a pig to runtogether with a 2 monitor box. These are all simple systems that give reasonable images on monitor.
