Best Settings for CNB WCM-20VF

Recommended Posts

I am new on this board. I have read several posts last few days, however have not come across a thread that lists the settings for best picture quality by a CNB outdoor camera, particularly a WCM-20VF. This camera is mounted in my back-yard where there is plenty of daylight/sunlight for most of the day (faces west). The camera is connected to a Geovision, GV-800 card. The picture looks pretty washed out and the color saturation is off. Picture is quite reasonable during the night under IR. Can you please help with settings recommendation to improve the picture.

Cheers and thanks.

The WCM-20VF is a very good camera, it even has a DC iris. Did you check to make sure that the sun shield is doing its job.

Also upload a picture of when you think it looks the worst.

Thanks. I will reset to default and then post a pic.

The other cams are megapixel IP which give a true life-like picture (during the day) so perhaps my comparison is not fair. However, this analog camera holds it own in the night though....really good built-in IR illuminator.

What Megapixel camera are you comparing to?

I am building a hybrid system based on Geovision software for my home. So far, I have added a Geo Box BX-120D (lo lux but no illuminator) and a Geo dome VD-120D (built-in illuminator). I have a Geo Box BX-220D and a Arecont AV3100DN waiting to be installed. Finally, I will add a couple of more analog cams (undecided brands) to complete the system.

I am on a tight budget so am trying to balance quality/performance with cost. Do you have experience with the Geovision IP cameras?

Cheers.
