edf 0 Posted May 3, 2011 Hi everyone, I am new on here, so not sure if sanyone can help. I use the address xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:8765 to remotely view my AVtech DVR using the "Any time & Any where" Video Web Server, i.e. I use the IP and port 8765 to get through the router. This works fine on Firefox (Linux and Windows XP) and also on IE (Windows) but when I try to use Chrome on Windows XP or most importantly Chrome on Lubuntu (Linux) it doesn't work (I have installed Java in Lubuntu and can use other Java things)!! I get to the login page and type in my credentials and then press "Submit" and I get the message "The requested URL was not found on this server". The address in the browser address bar is: xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:8765/home.cgi I have emailed AVTech and they DID respond and said that they "support IE, Firefox and Chrome", but they didn't actually offer any solution to my question and haven't answered any of my responses. Does anyone think they can help me? Thanks Ed
lely09 0 Posted June 20, 2011 I've run into the same issue with most DVR's we use. I think it simply has to do with how the remote software is setup and chrome has not been included. Even Firefox doesn't work for me sometimes. If anyone knows exactly why I would be interested in knowing...
edf 0 Posted June 20, 2011 I actually emailed AV Tech, (but in respect of Linux -hence why I asked about the Chromium browser not Chrome) as they state that they support "Chrome" and they said: Our CCTV system is not compatible with Chromium browser, and also not compatible with Lubuntu. We only support IE, FF, Google Chrome & Safari ...though this is wrong as Chrome DOESN'T work even on XP! They then stated that they support Firefox on Linux (which I know to be true) but seemed to totally ignore the fact that Chrome doesn't work on XP! If anyone has a solution that would be great! clyde 0 Posted June 25, 2011 You dont think is a problem of active X missing?
edf 0 Posted June 27, 2011 Hi, ActiveX is Microsoft Specific, other browsers use the Netscape Plugin Application Programming Interface (NPAPI) so this is not relevant. The problem is Chrome/Chromium specific, even though AVTEch say they support Chrome/Chromium! Does anyone know, or have any idea where I nmight be able to go? Leohuangdi 0 Posted June 27, 2011 Not all the dvrs can work with chrome or firefox, it depends of the model and firmware version. (for trying, you can access the demosite of AVTECH, in my computer was working) ......http://www.eagleeyescctv.com/demo_1.aspx Please give me model number and firmware so i can verify if it's supported or not. I like very much Linux (i've last version of Ubuntu), mostly i use Firefox to access to AVTECH dvr's, but i noticed that even Chromium is working too. Of course need to run the Applet when you login to the DVR...... Some models after being upgraded, will support Chrome and all the other borwser, some others are too old and will never support Chrome. Leo
