_F7_ 0 Posted May 10, 2011 I work at a startup company developing software for well control. Recently, three laptops containing research and the drives containing their backup data were stolen. The building manager doesn't know how to use the DVR that she paid a couple of Czechs from craigslist way too much to set up for her, it's a video insight system with a bunch of mismatched cameras and spotty coverage. Anyways, the software is totally screwed, likely pirated, and the system it's running on is crawling with malware. I really don't want to mess with it. What I've done is copied all of the AVIs from the relevant weekend to an external drive. The system was set up without any triggers, so it just captured every frame. What I want to know is if there's anything I can do to have a computer program go in and mark all the movement more interesting than a shadow growing longer or traffic on a distant highway. Thank you very much. I'd appreciate especially if I didn't have to buy a software package as I'll likely never do this again and the building manager isn't of the cut to cover the cost. ~F7
