mkaplan001 0 Posted May 10, 2011 I justed installed a 13 camera system ( geovision) and on all the cameras it looks like I have ants on the screen. It isent real bad, but it is not clear and also a little distorated. I can really see them good when the IR turns on. I have tried hooking it up to a tv from 4 feet away and still the same. The image looks fuzzy on the computer it is installed on(it is at max quality) and I tried hooking it up stright to a mointer and still the same. Its just is not close to crystal clear during the day. Dealer guys said sony cameras must have bad chips and is gonna send me some test cameras before replacing all the cameras . rory 0 Posted May 10, 2011 The first one you listed isnt a Sony camera, more likely the rest aren't either? Actually its really overpriced for what is essentially considered a basic color IR camera. Anyway, could be bad cameras, but also check the power to each one, make sure its getting enough power, and you can also try another thing, turn the contrast down on the monitor you are using to check them with, if its the same monitor thats connected to the DVR then that might be the problem, high contrast on certain monitors will cause alot of noise otherwise not seen on other monitors. mkaplan001 0 Posted May 10, 2011 24 IR Color Dome Camera, 1/3 inch SONY Super HAD CCD, 540 TV Line, Built-in 3.6mm Lens. also have a few bullet cameras that are also 1/3 sony high res ccd with 600 lines. I will check the contrast on the mointer. Have tried playing with the contrast on the gv software but no luck. I can basiclly change the res from 1080 to anything lower and still the same picture. I have also tried a direct connect to a tv(not the mointer) and still. have tried 3 different power sources on cameras with a 6 ft lead and still the same. SEANHAWG 1 Posted May 10, 2011 Changing the rez on your TV really isnt going to improve the picture quality of the cameras much as the most the cameras are putting out are probably only 480p anyways. Like you, I seriously doubt that all 13 cameras are bad. I agree with Soundy that the nighttime picture looks pretty typical, for such a low light shot such as that, you are going to get noise.
