Hi. I'm planning to upgrade a mediocre analog 4 channel cctv system in a retail setting to an eight channel system and the current plan is to go with an 8 channel hybrid DVR in order to have the option of using some IP cameras now and in the future. I've heard good things about the EH1008H Hybrid DVR by Avermedia (and it's at a great price point), but it doesn't have digital PTZ in realtime or playback which is the main reason I need the surveillance system. We need to watch people's hands, what may or may not go into their bags, etc.

Are there any other hybrid DVRs that I can consider in the general price range of the Avermedia which have this capability? Or am I going to be stuck with an analog DVR?

Thanks!

I don't know what the Aver costs, so I can't say how the price point compares, but Vigil should do what you need as well.

many do hybrid now. it just depends on your budget. but some also require you to buy licence to use ip cameras so you need to check that on which ever DVR-NVR you look at.

another new one on the market is the dauha hybrid. 1 of only 2 systems on the market that are plug and play

1080p Hybrid Dvr, up to 20 cameras - zero network setup - no router/switch configuration zero network bandwidth problems - zero cabling issues - one cable per IP camera - Built-in 4-port Ethernet router - Built-in IP camera power (Power over Ethernet)
