HTElectrical 0 Posted May 22, 2011 I can control the zoom and OSD using the supplied software and DB9 cable, but when I try and use the GV-NET card to control zoom thru Geo's software it will just zoom in or out all of the way depending on the orientation of the wires to the RS-485 connector. HTElectrical 0 Posted May 22, 2011 And here is the GV-NET card. I measured the voltage coming out of the contacts and is is 4.7 if I remember correctly. HTElectrical 0 Posted May 24, 2011 II Tried the Pelco Dome according to this guide http://www.cctvcamerapros.com/Geovision-PTZ-Setup-s/153.htm but that doesn't mean it works for my camera. I also found a guide that deals specifically with the Minitron camera. If you have not already done so, boot your Geovision computer and open the Geovision system. To configure your PTZ camera to be controlled by Geovision follow these steps. 1. Click on the configure button on your Geovision system (seen below) and select System Configure. Geovision Configure 2. Under the General Settings tab, there is a PTZ Control section. 1) Check the PTZ device setup checkbox, 2) Select Pelco Dome, 3) Click on the connect button as seen below. Enable PTZ 3. When you click on the connect button, the below window opens to configure the PTZ camera protocol and baud rate. Set the Com port to COM1, Baud Rate to 9600, PT Speed to 1, select Protocol - P, and check the Activate check box as seen below. Then click OK. Geovision PTZ Protocol When you click OK, you may see the following baud rate warning on the screen. You can ignore this message and click OK. Baud Conflict Warning 4. On the main Geovision system screen, you should now see a button to gain control of your PTZ camera(s). Click on the button as seen below. Geovision PTZ Control Enable 5. This will open the PTZ controls on your Geovision system. Select the address of your PTZ camera that you earlier setup on your camera from the dropdown box. This article describes how to attach the remote connector of a Mintron 64G2DH camera to a GV-I/O box and configure the GV-MultiCam System to control the cameras zoom in/out functions. Procedure: Connecting the devices: 1. Connect the RS-232 port on the GV-NET card to the DVRs COM port using the supplied cable (RJ11 to DB9). 2. Connect the RS-485 port on the GV-NET card to the RS-485 port on the GVI/ O box. *Note: Make sure to connect positive to positive and negative to negative. Sentry recommends using Cat5 network cable for RS-485 connections. 3. Included with the camera is a connector that lets you fabricate a custom cable by soldering it to the contacts that will be used. The cameras remote connector uses pin 11 for ‘Zoom Out’ and pin 12 for ‘Zoom In’. 4. Now we can connect the camera to the GV-I/O. In this example we will use outputs DO7-2 and DO8-2 on the GV-I/O box. Connect pin 11 from the camera to DO7-2 on the GV-I/O box, and pin 12 to DO8-2. 5. Once all the connections have been made, power up the camera and GV-I/O box. Verify that the power LEDs on both devices are lit and that you are receiving a video signal on the DVR. Configuring GV-MultiCam System software: 6. Open the ‘System Configure’ window in the GV-MultiCam System and switch to the ‘I/O Device’ tab. In the upper left area of the window, next to ‘Device:’, select ‘GVIO’ from the drop-down box and click ‘Add’. You will see a new entry in the list (Module: 1, Device: GVIO, Port: COM1, Address: 1). 7. Select module 1 from the list and you will notice the settings to the right become available. In the lower right area of the window place a checkmark next to ‘For PTZ’. 8. Switch to the ‘General Settings’ tab and place a checkmark next to ‘PTZ Device Setup’ in the top right area of the window. In the drop-down box below it, make sure ‘PTZ in I/O’ is selected. Click ‘OK’ to confirm the changes and close the ‘System Configure’ window. 9. You’ll notice that two new buttons are available on the right side of the screen. The ‘PTZ’ button will display the camera controls on the left side of the screen.
