Soundy 1 Posted May 27, 2011 Interesting... the blacks have been running flawlessly for us for a couple years now as both internal data drives and in the RAIDs. QNAP does recommend only the REs (for WD brand, anyway) for "Mission critical/enterprise" use. Hmmm, seems QNAP has updated their list: WDxxEARS and WDxxEADS models (basically, all the Greens) are simply listed as "Not Recommended" on pretty much all their arrays... not even listed for "Home/SOHO" use anymore. Note5 (WD Caviar Green)These hard disk drives have passed QNAP lab's initial verification of compatibility. However, because many users have reported unstable experience with these hard disk drives, we do not recommend using these had disk drives with QNAP products. WD10EADS-00P8B0 and WD15EADS-00P8B0 are not suggested because of slow performance and stability issues.
Quantum 0 Posted May 27, 2011 FYI that was totally uncalled for and disrespectful. And you think this was 'called for and respectful'? Well I am glad your not in the IP video business then Challenging me with a 250MB/s video stream just to see if I messed up the answer so you could ridicule me... I get it right and you refuse to acknowledge. Dishonest. Your true colors show at times like this, thewireguys. Customers like me are (still) reading.
