tomcctv 190 Posted June 6, 2011 not very far <10 meters but whats the layout and setting of both? with only 10m then just connect each via rs232. the settings are in pos set-up. just select test and set your register and see what text you get.

lemme201 0 Posted June 6, 2011 just for my information, Can the Averdigi eh1004h be connected directly to the pos? Or must this be used with posbox and/or ipos software? regards Tom

POS's and the RS232 cables can be EXTREMELY fickle. You may need to set up the 7 & 8 cross and for a couple I've even needed to initiate the 6-4 cross too

Can you also let me know what settings you used on the EH1004h under pos settings? And what the flow control was used with the 7&8 cross and the 6&4 cross cable? Thank you. groovyman 0 Posted June 29, 2011 lemme201, I understand your frustration. I came across your post via a google search I was doing for a project I'm working on and realized that I joined cctvforum many years ago, asked a question and disappeared. Here it is 6 years later and hopefully I can finally give something back A feature that really attracted me to the EH1008H (and EH1004H) was the Integrated POS function and the thought that the POS system could connect directly to the Nano. No dice. After a few hours of tinkering on both the POS and Nano I finally contacted my distributor as well as Avermedia directly. They both said that the POS capture box was required. So, I bought one and was capturing text within a few minutes of connecting it. I can't say with 100% certainty that this will solve your problem, but I can say that the pos capture box solved my problems.....and that I was advised to use the box from both my distributor and Avermedia tech support. But, please keep this in mind - the box is not foolproof. I've run into scenarios where the box will not work. It has to do with capturing text off an Epson TM-T88III, IV or V receipt printer using the Epson advanced printer driver with some features enabled. That can be a topic by itself and I won't go into it here.
Campbell 0 Posted June 29, 2011 anyone? I missed this reply... or I forgot I replied to it! I've not used the Avermedia... however. If you have the ability to build your own RS232 cable, I suggest this first Build the cable as follows. 1 ----- 2 - 3 | 3 - 2 | 4 ----- 5 - 5 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - In other words, wire 2 to 3 and 3 to 2 and 5 to 5. then at each end, connect 1 & 4 in a loop. When the lines are handshake looped (1&4), the RTS output from the PC immediately activates the CTS input - so the PC effectively controls its own handshaking. See if that works and get back to me
