One other thing, cannot find anywhere on the system's menu, or the manual on how to change the DVR password.

Anyone?

couple passwords - local menu and the network::

----------------------------------------------

MENU PASSWORD: page 14,

A password can be set to prohibit unauthorized access to the menu systems.

The default setting is Off.

To set or change the menu password:

1. Use the cursor keys to change the User password to On.

2. When the new password menu is displayed use the camera key numbers to enter a password - up to eight numbers.

3. Press the menu key to enter the password.

4. When prompted re-enter the password to confirm and press the menu key when complete.

WARNING: For security reasons, loss of passwords will require the unit to be

returned for the passwords to be reset.

--------------------------------------------

NETWORK PASSWORD:

Run the PC Viewer, login as - admin, admin

Click on Set up and you can change passwords and usernames there.

-----------------------------------------------

also, when you install the PC Viewer software, it installs the user manual for the network software and thats found in the start menu also under NETWORK VIEWER. Its a different manual just for the networking side.

We use the following ports:

80(TCP) – Webviewer

8234(TCP+UDP) – Network Viewing Software

8235(TCP) – Network Admin

Got to say that the client is very very unhappy with the peformance of the remote picture, the quality sucks big time. I didn't do the install, but he called me after the previous installer could not figure out how to put the unit online.

If the picture quality is bad you may want to consider RMA'ing it back to DM. I've found some unit that have a sucky picture, i've sent it back and it improved. I have one unit i wasnt happy with picture quality , a Sprite 2 9channel, and now it got other issues as well so its back to DM.
