Geovision Bullet Vs. Arecont Bullet

Hi All,

 

Anyone tried both the Geovision and Arecont 3MP Bullet Cameras? Just looking for a straight image comparison and night time performance information.

 

I want to go with the Geovision camera as it's a bit cheaper and is free to use with the hybrid NVR.

 

Also have not used Arecont for quite some time, is the defect rate still through the roof?

our customer has compared geovision camera with AV3125IR, and they said they removed geovision camera as soon as they saw the night image

No experience with Arecont but recently purchased the BL-320 and the night vision when in "Auto" mode was very noisy. Manually switching to B/W at night cured this and made a good image. I contacted Geovision support and they sent me a beta firmware version that fixed the night vision. I wonder if this is what your customer saw?

I programmed over 100 areconts in the office recently and they all worked out of the box. Once in the field we sent back maybe one or two, but I think the installer messed one up.

 

My biggest problem with them is they keep forgetting their IP and factory keeps telling us it's impossible, they should never forget them.

I don't know but they've already purchased arecont products

 

I have two pieces of bl320 in stock that we can't get rid off, maybe the firmware will help us too

Again no experience with Arecont but reading specs makes it look way beyond the Geovision. The Geovision is new and less money, but the Arecont looks very nice.
