Hi, i'm also a novice at all this.

We had a Lite H.264 dvr system installed for cctv use and i need to download some of the footage from it but i can only copy it directly onto a stick and not directly onto an external which means i'll be at it forever as i need to download approximately 70hrs worth.

But my main issue is that once i copy it and then put it directly onto my external (so i can post it to someone else), when i try to play it back to make sure its copied, nothing happens. Do i just use the 'DVR Player' that is already there to view it, if so how????

Desperate for help as this is now very urgent.

What model is the DVR?

Some of them have HDD Download software where you can take out the drive and put it in a PC then run the software to save what you want to your PC. Also make sure you have the codecs installed so it can play in Media Player or other, although some use proprietary codecs that wont even allow that. Depends on the DVR.
