rocmay 0 Posted June 22, 2011 Ok I'm taking over a adt system has anybody ever messed with the pin out on these. The cameras are being fed into a adt dvr with a rj11 plug. I would like to keep some of the cameras going but change out the dvr system. I know it is a 12 volts on the red and black but im not sure how they are getting video back out of the system. I would like to cut the plug at the dvr, feed power to the camera's via another power supply but change over to a bnc via a ballum. I tried to use the yellow and black but I can't seem to get the video out of it for some reason.
jxk716 0 Posted June 23, 2011 I had an ADT system years ago and found the manual for the monitor which housed the power source. From what I can remember they were. 27 or 28 VAC but I can't be sure. The book also has the pinout. I promised myself never to throw that away so I will look for it and post details asap.

thewireguys 3 Posted June 23, 2011 easiest way to up grade is keep the ADT dvr and use the look outputs to your new DVR
