vinylwall 0 Posted June 10, 2014 I have a model KPD679ZB-C. I attempted to update the firmware via the network and it failed halfway through the process. Is there a way to force the unit to load the firmware from a USB thumb drive? I tried the suggestion of shorting TP5 & TP6. It makes the short extra beep and briefly says it is resetting the configuration to factory, but it never tries to load the firmware from the USB thumb drive. The screen is stuck on H.264 "System Initial..."
vinylwall 0 Posted June 11, 2014 Issue resolved. The unit simply wasn't recognizing the USB thumb drive. I used a different one and all is good.

Errol 0 Posted March 8, 2016 You need to replace the button battery in the dvr to fix the date issue.
six10ken 0 Posted July 20, 2016 Hi Petros, Your dvr is a B version, so you cannot use the firmware 1022. This is the link for the last firmware of KPD679B (fw- 1008): https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B_Tf3Yb1yhhRZTBjZjBjYjEtMDQ4OS00ZmFlLWE4NDYtYTNmYTE4NzdmNWJm&hl=en_US&authkey=CML788oC Hope this firmware can solve your problem Leo Good day. Im looking for a firmware update for thsi model as well. KPD679ZB-D This thread is the only place ive found anything so far. I see this thread is rather old though. The current stated firmware is 1015-1002-1006-1003 Would this actually be a newer update than the one you have suggested? I have 11 DVRs now for our facility, and the reason I am attempting to upgrade them all is it appears some one is hacking into and monitoring our dvrs. I monitor them currently with a MAC laptop and the videoviewer lite app, and it shows multiple viewers , when I am the only 1 with the passwords. I have changed the admin log in and passwords a number of times now. That seem to keep others out for a week or 2, but then surely enough I start seeing multiple viewers showing up on the various DVRs again. I changed ports as well....I figured my last resort was to try to upgrade all the firmware to see if that helps...otherwise i am going to be forced to take them all offline. jeromephone 6 Posted February 10, 2017 Is Avtech still in business. Last year I tried to get info on a couple of their push video cameras and got no response from the website and a forum dedicated to their products had no post for two years?
