Help me find my bottleneck for running Eyemax 9120 client

Recommended Posts

I have the following setup:

1x WDR HD camera

2xVGA Sony cameras

4x Black and white Sony cameras

Running Server Eyemax 6120

core duo (Not Core 2 duo) 2.0Ghz

512 DDR2 PC5300

Static IP ATT DSL

Tested at about

5 Mbps down

0.58 Mbps up

client 5.5.0.0

server 5.5.0.0

Ok, so I think thats all the info for my computer. Everything is running great; however, when I remote access via client I get around 1 Frame per second. It really lags. I was wondering what my bottleneck is.

Do I need more ram? A better processor? Or a better internet connection? Or is the program for Eyemax DVR client side just normally laggy when streaming video over a network?

I have tested the stream over the internal network and it still lags, so I do not think the connection is the major problem.

I was thinking about upgrading the ram; however, the specs on the eyemax 9120 say it only needs 256MB while i have 512. (source: http://www.eyemaxdvr.com/scripts/dv9120.asp)

I dont want to spend money on more ram and find out that wasnt my bottleneck.

Thanks,

max
