xpro 0 Posted July 6, 2011 Hi, i have some wide angle cameras installed on my premises, some are jvc day/night with 3mm lenses, and some are IR domes 600tvl with 2.8-9mm lenses. Use of wideangle is necessary in order to keep the whole area covered, but only one problem, picture quality is horrible, not sharp at all. When i zoom the cameras they perform excellent, but obviously zoom is no good for what i need. Any recommendations please?
rory 0 Posted July 6, 2011 Are you focusing it after you zoom it out to wide? The quality should be good out to 20-30' then it will degrade, objects will be smaller though. What type of monitor are you using to test it with? (testing should not involve the DVR at all) You could zoom it in a little more like 4mm or so and it should be a happy medium. Otherwise for highest resolution and wide angle like that, the alternative now are Megapixel Fisheye type cameras.
