cstech 0 Posted July 12, 2011 I am looking for some case history. We have completed a perimeter security project that consists of 21 Visible Light Cameras, Inferred Illuminators, & Analytics Software. The system is required to have 100% detection accuracy at 3’ outside of the fence line and 10’ inside the fence line, with only 3 nuisance alarms per sensor per day. The issues are; heavy tree lined areas causing dark shadows during the day. This causes issues with the Analytics Software. By turning all of the cameras to night mode and igniting some of the IRI’s we can see into the dark areas during the day. Unfortunately, when the light changes rapidly do to clouds, or a tree swaying in the wind, the camera iris flashes due to iris light adjustments within the camera. This causes false alarms, up to 150 per day. We tried to make software changes in the Analytics program to compensate for this issue; however that solution caused a 9 second restart of each effected camera. This project was specified to use Visible Light Cameras. I am aware that Thermal cameras could fix these issues, however the budget would not allow it. I am looking for some case history that I can use to show the owner that his selection of Visible Light Cameras for this project can not provide his desired result. fa chris 0 Posted July 13, 2011 Easiest solution is to remove the tree's.
garyswine 0 Posted July 26, 2011 The proprietary software I use will differentiate from objects and identify either humans or vehicles. I also have the option of checking if it is a crowded area. I use hardware and software from i3International. From the manual: VideoLogix™ is an intelligent human(vehicle) tracking / theft detection module developed exclusively by i³DVR. This module allows: 1. Detecting Human Presence 2. Detecting a Vehicle 3. Detecting a Missing Object 4. Analyzing Human/Vehicle behavior 5. Initializing pre-selected response depending on the nature of the behavior The total number of available VideoLogix™ channels will depend on the DVMS model. Please contact customer care if more VideoLogix channels are desired. The VideoLogix™ tracking module is a versatile device that allows for seven different types of human/object detection and tracking: Area, CrossWire™, Idle, Missing, Stop, Direction, Passthrough Counter™.
