Help! Lens compatability, video drive vs. dc drive iris cont

Hi all, first time poster.

 

My boss has recently found an old cctv camera / lens combo and has tasked me with finding out whether it is salvageable. They came attached together so i assume someone has had them working at some point. My job is to find out if they are compatible and then to re-wire all connections if so.

Lens details: Cosmicar Tv zoom lens, C6Z1218M3 - 2

My question is this:

 

One appears to be a video control auto iris, one appears to be a dc control (I am completely new to this and this is just what i have managed to find out so far online, i may be wrong).

 

Is it possible to use the 2 units together? We only require the auto iris control, not any auto focus and zoom which i believe the lens is also capable of.

i know the camera as hitachi leeds. what business is your boss in Antiques ??? the camera was last used 1987.

 

just the cost in time alone you could buy something better and colour.

 

i hate to think what your boss is going to bring out when he says he still has the recorder

yes it is feasible but your just adding more cost. cameras now only need 1 coax and 1 pair for control.

 

your camera you will need to run 6 pair and coax at least if you want to build your own control unit. all that cost for a black white camera.

 

you can buy a CNB 30x zoom box camera for less
