How do I determine the model of my DVR?

Recommended Posts

It says on the outside 4CH MPEG4 DVR. Its black with silver buttons. I am currently connecting to it remotely on my android with 3g and wifi and via my home network. I want to make sure it has the latest firmware and I would like some assistance turning on the email functionality as well. I have spent alot of time researching email and am striking out. Some assistance would be really helpful.

Thank you in advance!

Posting pictures of it here may help, if someone recognizes it... buying something with a name in the first place is preferable.

Thats an old AvTech DVR.

Also sold under other brands such as Eclipse CCTV and CpCam, and dozens more brand names back in the day like pretty much all the big US retailers used to sell them.

I have one in my garage growing weeds its been there so long.

There isnt much one can do to upgrade them, they kind of just suck by todays standards.

At the time they were great for the price though, now DVRs much cheaper blow them away.

Discontinued Product Page from Eclipse (AvTech dont have it listed anymore)

Also alot of info on those DVRs from one of our forum members: (who is MIA )

Awesome, thank you for the reply. Do you know how to successfully setup email settings on one? My log shows that the sending of the email keeps failing when motion triggers the email event. I found a page that said I have to use the IP address of the SMTP server of my email provider. I did that but it still doesnt work. Can you point me in the direction of a quality DVR for a good price that is more updated? Provides email functionality of video clips, has an easy way to export the video if needed for law enforcement.
