Dolly 0 Posted July 22, 2011 Hello all, I'm new here and I have a problem. I have to realize the extension of a video surveillance system and do not know how. At present there are 16 cameras connected to a DVR AVC787 with MPEG 4 witch are viewed on an LCD TV with diagonal for approx. 1.5 m. It is like an extension for another 16 or 32 cameras. We found 32 channel DVR. The problem is I do not know how to watch all 48 cameras on the same monitor. What should i do? Can I use an video multiplexer or an Quad? Sory for my english! Thanks in advance Dolly
Soundy 1 Posted July 22, 2011 You could run both DVRs into a quad, but I suspect you wouldn't be happy with the quality. A monitor with two switchable inputs would work better, but you wouldn't be able to view both DVR simultaneously. Two monitors side-by-side would be a better idea. If you have the same brand second DVR, you could use a computer to run a VMS to access and view both. At the extreme end, you could switch to a system that allows up to 64 channels, like Exacq.
