Wiring a CNB VCM24VF with 12VDC? (noobie question)

Recommended Posts

OK got together enough cash to upgrade my front door camera to a CNB VCM24VF. Manual says to wire to + and - terminals. No problem except my green adapter at the plug has no such markings? Traced out the leads to a red and brown wires at power input JK502/503. Would I be correct in assuming that red is positive? Already have 12VDC at camera location. Thanks, Ed

Polarity does not matter with that camera.

You can put red and black on either side of the green connector.

Thanks Rory! Did not want to find out the hard way. Figured the green adapter was actually for 24VAC.

It's dual-voltage. Actually, it's multi-voltage. IIRC, that camera will accept any input voltage from about 10V to 30V, AC or DC. The internal power board rectifies and regulates it as needed.
