SDM Group 0 Posted July 31, 2011 A lot will depend on the output from the DVR's, S-Video, VGA, RCA etc.
gtxkid 0 Posted July 31, 2011 DVI We use a lot of the adapters that go from DVI to VGA. Also has BNC . Will be DVR's with 4 monitors, one VGA Coard on each. How to choose Monitor for best resolution in 300-400 dollar price range.
Birdman Adam 0 Posted July 31, 2011 IMO, any recent DVR should have a good HDMI output. That way the cameras can be displayed together with more quality. Remember, HDMI can be converted to DVI, and visa-versa as well. No audio through DVI of course!!
gtxkid 0 Posted August 1, 2011 Thankyou for that. How about monitors. What would you use. TV's or what.
Birdman Adam 0 Posted August 1, 2011 Well it depends on the output of my video source. If it is HDMI, I will search for a TV-oriented monitor. They can be had cheaply now! If it is DVI, I will go for a computer-monitor. Simply because TV's usually don't have DVI inputs. They usually DO have HDMI as well as VGA with a 3.5mm audio jack. fa chris 0 Posted August 1, 2011 As long as you get a 1080p tv it'll look great as a monitor and the picture quality will be just fine. We use them all the time with vga inputs.
SDM Group 0 Posted August 1, 2011 Obviously the resolution will be limited by the lowest denominator, VGA is 640x480.
Birdman Adam 0 Posted August 1, 2011 The thing I like to think about, is how many cameras you can fit on the screen without shrinking them down a lot. So if you have a 1080 (progressive or interlaced) screen (1920x1080), you can basically fit 9 D1 cameras on there with very little shrinking to make them fit. That is surely a lot better than feeding a 1080 screen 1024x768 VGA!
Twilo123 0 Posted August 20, 2011 wouldn't dpi and physical screen size play into this calculation also though?
