mike_va 0 Posted August 2, 2011 Found inside a camera C-CS adaptor on a Tamron IR lens. Seems to block a lot of the light at night.
videoVIP 0 Posted August 2, 2011 Just a WAG: An adaptor (focal length) of some sort...?
Birdman Adam 0 Posted August 3, 2011 Could you maybe take the pictures a bit farther away, and zoom in to compensate. It would be better if we could see it in focus. Looks to me like they are cheaping out by offering bigger lenses with an adapter that limits light.
Soundy 1 Posted August 3, 2011 Looks to me link some kind of filter, but would be hard to say exactly what it does from a photograph... cut filter of some sort? Polarizer, maybe, to kill reflections?
rory 0 Posted August 3, 2011 you can buy the lenses with the option of an ND filter, so perhaps that is it.
mike_va 0 Posted August 4, 2011 Possibly ND, but wondering why they did that as they also had the sense up set at 8x on a 1/2" B&W...works fine at night without it at 1x... I'll try this weekend to see if it affects the viewing angle. Not a cheap lens though but a little older C mount Tamron IR corrected 1/2" varifocal autoiris. mike_va 0 Posted August 9, 2011 Just a WAG: An adaptor (focal length) of some sort...? Nope, seems to be about the same. Bumped the lens adjustments so not an exact comparison.
