ljnl 0 Posted August 5, 2011 Hi, I'm trying to figure out if I can control the PTZ functions from a Av-tech AVN284 Speed Dome (connected to a AVC796(B) DVR) via the EagleEyes iPhone application. After corresponding with a few shops I can't seem to get a clear answer. In short: The AVN284 is connected to a AVC796(B) DVR, and the DVR is accessible via EagleEyes on the iPhone. Is it possible to control the PTZ-functions in this setup via the iPhone? (Note: the AVC796 doesn't seem to support DCCS, so it must be connected via RS485 control wires.) Does anyone know if it's possible? Thanks in advance! LJ
tomcctv 190 Posted August 5, 2011 Speed Dome (connected to a AVC796(B) DVR) via the EagleEyes iPhone application. hi. yes it will work. if you have control from your dvr and via remote PC then you should also have full control over youe iphone. ljnl 0 Posted August 5, 2011 Thanks for your reply tomcctv! Through your link I came across the demo-page again, I noticed the AVN244 demo (missed that one before), tried it in EagleEyes-plus and it works like a charm. So I think I'll go for the AVN244. Does anyone know the big difference between the AVN244 and the AVN284? (Besides the vandal-proof housing.)
ljnl 0 Posted August 22, 2011 To finalize this topic: the AVN284 (or AVN244) is a IP camera. So it does not connect to the AVC796 at all . But it works like a charm via the EagleEyes app
