tlavite 0 Posted August 8, 2011 I have a client who has 12 PTZ cameras in a housing authority. They are spread out pretty wide. Currently they are all wired together with RG-59 and controlled over pelcos Coaxitron. The people who installed the system botched the wire job majorly. (I posted about this a few months ago) my question now is a new one. We want to swicth this system over to a wirless mesh type of system like you see on the highway with PTZ's. Does anyone have any links or information on a system like this?
Soundy 1 Posted August 8, 2011 I know a lot of the traffic cams around here, when they go offline, display a "PelcoNET" logo... you might try asking Pelco about a migration path (I assume it's all or mostly Pelco gear now)?
Birdman Adam 0 Posted August 8, 2011 Yea, the state DOT has something similar here - hundreds of cameras are all accessible completely over the internet by one room. They showcased it on the news... A whole wall of monitors (like 100+ cams), and two little guys with joysticks and more monitors.
