Help Please Identifying a Wireless Receiver/Relevant Drivers

Recommended Posts

Hi Chaps,

Could really do with some help, just helping a mate put in some 'reasonably priced' Wireless cameras. Cameras themselves are broadcasting fine, no probs with the setup. Just the receiver.

I've tried *everything* to get it to play nicely in various Windows installs/systems/versions, and nothing. Tried every driver I can get my hands on, nothing.

It's this little fella here. The chip comes back as a ViMicro 326, (vimicro only supply drivers up to 323, which doesn't work), and the drivers supplied are for an STK1160, which don't work in the slightest.

Any help gratefully received, At my wits end!

Steve

What OS are you using? XP? Vista? 7? If its a 64bit OS, you may be out of luck. Most likely, this thing is technically a webcam - with the analog input being from a cheap receiver. Many 'older' USB webcam chips don't have drivers for them to work with 64bit OS's.

When you have the computer search for drivers itself, none come up? Usually it can find a generic one...

This site seems to have some possibilities for you:

Hi mate,

Well, I've been through the DriverMax setup, which it appears has pulled the old 'bait and switch' on me, can't find that driver anywhere on that site or from within the app, says it has no idea what the device is, and the original driver you kindly posted doesn't show up in the searches.

But.. it proves it must be out there. To be honest, I can use any OS, I'm an IT chap, access to licenses for nearly everything, could use Linux even, if it'd just work.

Thanks for the info, I was starting to suspect as much re: the webcam device, as half the drivers I've tried identify as such.

Cheers!

Steve
