Dahua DVRs - Get more multiviews out of PSS 4.04+

Default in 4.04+ is 50 max devices and 64 max channels.

Here is a tweak of the PSS_Config.ini file which will give you the option for up to 121 way multiview (11x11) and 1000 max devices. I tested it with 999 devices and it loads them in the device list and can manually edit each one, tested connecting to my 4 channel DVR 10 times and it worked using device numbers 999 etc. Dont have over 50 devices to test and definitely not 1000 devices nor a computer that can handle it So it may still only allow connection to 50 devices. Maybe someone else can test that.

 

Open in notepad and edit the values for the following fields then save the file.

 

DevMaxCount=1000

VideoWndMax=121

MulSubChannel=1

Example - only connected 10 times but PSS lets you use a device more than once so was able to test it in 121 way multiview. I had an IP conflict when trying to edit though as they are all the same IPs in this test, but otherwise can edit that outside of PSS using the XML file and PSS doesnt seem to care otherwise.

 

NOTE: with the DVR set to D1 my CPU was at 100% after adding many cameras as its a P4 3.0Ghz, so had to set the cameras to QCif to test this and worked fine, although close to 100% - so yes you need a powerful computer (and network) to handle D1x 121 cameras. This is the full PSS 4.04.6.
