CV68 0 Posted August 12, 2011 Hello, I'm installer of alarm systems and CCTV. One of my customer have a system with DR040 AVTECH DVR (usualy, I install DVR from an other manufacturer). Unfortunatly, my customer forgot the password. The installation of CCTV has been done by an installer who seems to have disappeared. Further to a theft, I have to download pictures and movies from the DVR. Can anyone tell me the procedure to reset/change the password? (I know the procedure for the hardware reset (default factory settings), but these procedure reset all settings and I don't know what's append about the pictures in HDD) Thank's Best regards Claude
Birdman Adam 0 Posted August 12, 2011 I'm pretty sure that a hardware reset is the only option to reset the password. Some info from another member: http://scorpiontheater.com/reset.aspx Here is his instructions specific to your DVR: http://scorpiontheater.com/Documents/Hardware_Reset_DR040_MaxPro4.pdf What is the format of the password? Is it just 4 numbers, each from 0-9? That's only 10^4, or 10,000 options. Start at 0000 and keep going up!
