Jeremy Barrow 0 Posted August 14, 2011 Hi Guys, Hope someone can help me here - newbie on the forum obviously, but I've used an AVer SA Series DVR for many years. I've Just swapped an SA5000 for an EH-1008 Nano because the Nano appeared to do all that the SA did, but in a much smaller and energy efficient package. The problem is I use Handy Viewer to integrate the cameras with touchpanels on a Crestron system, but I can't find any way to either configure or access Handy Viewer on the Nano. The instruction manual states that you simply access http:///mobile as you would with the SA and any other AVer but that doesn't work. Can anyone shed any light on using Handy Viewer on a Nano and if anyone has managed to do it, can you tell me the firmware version please, Many Thanks Jez
tomcctv 190 Posted August 14, 2011 The instruction manual states that you simply access http:///mobile as you would with the SA and any other AVer but that doesn't work hi yes your are a port number short you need http://ip-address:5550/mobile (this is only used to test viewer) but this will only give you still java refresh images. so you are best with Http:ip-address:5550
Jeremy Barrow 0 Posted August 14, 2011 Thanks for the quick reply - Sorry, I should have explained - my ports are as follows: Remote Console Port: 5550 WebViewer Port: 300 (changed so I don't have port 80 open on my firewall) If I go to http://:5550 or http://:300 I get WebViewer as expected. If I go to http://:5550/mobile or http://:300/mobile there's nothing there. What's puzzling is that on the SA there's an option to activate/deactivate Handy Viewer and set the jpg resolution, but the Nano doesn't have this option in setup. It's these still jpg images that I need for Crestron integration, Jez
tomcctv 190 Posted August 14, 2011 http://:5550/mobile hi. adding mobile at the end will only give you a still image. it is only a test on all avermedias. what are you logging in from pc/mobile ???
Jeremy Barrow 0 Posted August 14, 2011 That's exactly what I need - On the SA, using /mobile gives you "Handy Viewer" which then allows you to select still images from each camera. This is for logging in via a bog standard mobile phone.

Jeremy Barrow 0 Posted August 14, 2011 From the instruction manual: Using HandyViewer to Access DVR Server Users can use a mobile phone to access the DVR through Internet. Make sure your mobile phone support IE browser and is connected to the internet. To access the DVR server, open IE browser and enter http://enter server IP or domain name here/mobile. You can see the latest screen shot. Click << >> to change the channel or camera and Refresh to reload new screen shot. This is what I have always understood "Handy Viewer" to be. tomcctv 190 Posted August 14, 2011 It's a Nokia 6230i hi jeremy. its a long time since i have used that phone. log on to internet and enter this as is . http://yourexternal-ip:5550/JAVA-Viewer.html
tomcctv 190 Posted August 14, 2011 this is aver mobile still image viewer only still image that you have to refresh all the time. no controls and no audio. its just called avers java refresh. and you only get 1inch x 1 inch image. http://demo1.cctvbuyers.com:5550/mobile/ this is what you need to see on your nokia screen http://demo1.cctvbuyers.com:5550/JAVA-Viewer.html then you will see JAVA-Viewer.jar click on that to install icon in your mobil application screen and your done. Jeremy Barrow 0 Posted August 14, 2011 this is aver mobile still image viewer only still image that you have to refresh all the time. no controls and no audio. its just called avers java refresh. and you only get 1inch x 1 inch image. http://demo1.cctvbuyers.com:5550/mobile/ Ok, this is EXACTLY what I need out of my Nano. The reason is I need to provide the still jpgs to a Crestron Touch Panel which then refreshes the jpgs every 100ms to provide a moving image. So in your example above, the address I would use on the Touch Panel is: http://demo1.cctvbuyers.com:5550/mobile/channel1.jpg Then channel2, 3 etc for the rest. However, I can't get the Nano to spit this out. this is what you need to see on your nokia screen http://demo1.cctvbuyers.com:5550/JAVA-Viewer.html then you will see JAVA-Viewer.jar click on that to install icon in your mobil application screen and your done. I just used the Nokia as an example because that's the phone I used to test on. So forgetting about Java-Viewer, and forgetting about the Nokia, I simply want to get the "test" jpgs as you call them out of the Nano so I can use them on the Crestron Touch Panel. Does that make sense?
tomcctv 190 Posted August 14, 2011 forget all settings. handy viewer is symbian based and will not work on your system. webviewer is windows based. your only option with the Crestron is to run a composit from dvr to screen or network with this. http://www.crestron.com/resources/product_and_programming_resources/catalogs_and_brochures/online_catalog/default.asp?jump=1&model=cen-nvs100
Jeremy Barrow 0 Posted August 14, 2011 Handy Viewer isn't Symbian based - It's very basic Javascript! If you look at the code, it doesn't call any external scripts - it's fully self contained and only points to the jpgs, so if you drill to the URL of the jpg, it's not even javascript any more! It's simply a URL pointing at a jpg. So we haven't got the answer of how do you activate Handy Viewer on a Nano?
tomcctv 190 Posted August 14, 2011 Handy Viewer listen your post has got confusing as it is. you are not using handy viewer . this is handy viewer. it is software you download direct from the dvr as is remote viewer. what you are asking for is still java images but you want to display more than 1 image at a time. then no you cant ip:550/mobile is just avermedias test and has been for 7 years. Jeremy Barrow 0 Posted August 14, 2011 Sorry, yes, it has got rather confusing hasn't it? Ok, what you've pictured is "PDAViewer" used on WinCE devices - PDAs and suchlike "Handy Viewer" is the simple snapshot interface for mobile phones which only have an internet browser - for example the Nokia mentioned earlier. As per the AVer manuals - and I quote: "Using HandyViewer to Access DVR Server Users can use a mobile phone to access the DVR through Internet. Make sure your mobile phone support IE browser and is connected to the internet. To access the DVR server, open IE browser and enter http://enter server IP or domain name here/mobile. You can see the latest screen shot. Click << >> to change the channel or camera and Refresh to reload new screen shot." And that's all I'm trying to do!! Ok - here's a snapshot from my SA DVR Handy Viewer - I just want to do this with the Nano.
tomcctv 190 Posted August 14, 2011 does your screen have IE. ?? but even if you are trying to see images on your pc using http:// your local-ip:5550/mobile should work if not you have a port problem.
Jeremy Barrow 0 Posted August 14, 2011 It's a bit more complicated than that, but basically it pulls the jpgs from the DVR using the URLs of each channel's jpg. The issue is that http://:5550/mobile is not a valid URL on the Nano and therefore cannot be viewed on a pc. On the SA, you need to tick the Handy Viewer box in setup, but the Nano does not have such a box to tick! This is a shot of the panel fed by the individual channel jpgs from the SA - excuse the fuzz, but I'd rather not have internal pics of the house on the 'net. This works perfectly on the SA - the Crestron program refreshes the jpgs and so you get psuedo motion. I just want to replicate this using a Nano. And this all just hinges on Handy Viewer working! ie /mobile
