DVR Active Alarm Callout

Recommended Posts

This "call out on motion alarm" is the primary feature I want on my DVR. I've only found it on one DVR (the Avtech AVD718 which is several years old). My question is this -- is there an additional service and fee associated with cellphone alarm notification or just the cellphone fees associated with any call? And where can I find a good DVR that supports this feature?

Thanks,

Mike

hi. the avtech 3g server could be attached to a number of there dvrs. it alerts you via sms message (cell charge) and if you needed to view footage you called the server back with your mobile which also has a charge.

these servers were used if no internet was at the dvr location. do you have internet ??

Yes, I will have high speed internet connected to the DVR. But wouldn't I have to watch the system thru the internet all the time vs. getting alarms and then looking on-line if something tripped my indoor motion cameras?

I won't have email on my cell phone so I am looking for some way to know an alarm happened without needing someone on-line watching it all the time.

Thanks,

Mike

you can connect a GSM dialer to any CCTV dvr. pick them up for around $70 you just get another sim from your cell company (pay as you go) so as you dont get cross network charges.

but most of the time now its all done via email from dvr (no charges) can you get internet onyour phone.
