installing 2 two Stand alone DVRs

Recommended Posts

I am planing to install 2 two stand alone DVRs 16 channel each in order to reach 32 channel camera

i need your best advice and recommendation please.

- How can I combine both DVRs to be displayed in 1 one LCD Console or big TV without using the CMS software

- how can I connect the tow stand alone DVRs with the internet in order to be remotely viewed through the internet browser as one source. ( i am aware of how to setup the network for each DVR)

- Do you recommend using 2 stand alone DVRs 16 channel each or 1 stand alone DVR of 32 Channel or rack mount like this one [edit by mod-store link removed]

Thank you in advance for your help.

1. Why can't you use the CMS software? The software included with my 8-ch SRD-870DC from Samsung allows me to connect to any number of their devices all at once, and view them all at once, together. That would be a good way to go - just have one or two giant monitors to watch the software displaying the cams.

2. Don't think you can 'connect' them together like that.

3. Personally, I would go for one 32ch system. Seems to me it would be a lot easier to manage. Plus, you don't have to worry about your first two questions! Since standalones don't seem to typically be sold as 32ch units - I'd go for a network video recorder:

Like this:

With 2 of these:

With 4 of these in each of the extension racks:

And maybe add in this for extra recording space:

You can't. Not cleanly, anyway.

You could use a TV with split-screen or Picture-in-Picture functions. Or you could run both into a multiplexer, which will give you either PiP or 2x2 split-screen (plus two blank squares). None of them will look very good.

You'd need DVRs with web SDKs, then create a custom page to display them together.
