Go3Team 0 Posted August 20, 2011 I'm trying to find some proper power wire hopefully red and black to mark polarity, and hopefully jacketed. I've picked up some 22/2 today at one of the big box stores, but it just doesn't look thick enough. I'm probably thinking 18/2, but all the lengths I've seen are 1000' and I only need about a tenth of that. Should I go with the 22 gauge I bought or look around for some 18/2 by the foot? Thanks. nDAlk90 0 Posted August 20, 2011 22/2 should be fine for 500 mA or less for each camera. Anymore and you should upgrade. Otherwise it should work fine.
Birdman Adam 0 Posted August 20, 2011 Yea, it will be totally fine for powering any basic camera. If you need to power IR - I would forget about using 22/2. Step up to like 18/2 if your running much more than like 800mA.

Does anyone have a spare 100' to 150' they might want to sell?
rory 0 Posted August 20, 2011 Just goto your local electrical supplier and buy some lamp cord wire by the foot, should be 18awg. Or get the RG59 18awg siamese one time?
