Tommybouy 0 Posted July 26, 2005 I have a problem at a site where some of the outdoor cameras are condensing inside the housing. The location is Texas. The cameras are fixed bullet cameras and do not have blowers. The housings are sealed at the factory. They do have thermostat controlled heaters, but they don't kick in until around 50F. Any ideas of how to eliminate this problem would be much appreciated.
VST_Man 1 Posted July 26, 2005 water maybe getting it if you have condensation on the inside lens. return and replace or tear apart and weather proof. make sure you dry them out BEFORE you put them back together. the chances that a bullet will leak increases each time you open and close it. if you overtighten it you can crush or twist the o ring. Tommybouy 0 Posted July 26, 2005 Thanks. The cameras are sealed, but like you said, they must have gotten moisture in them at some time. I think we will take them apart, dry them up, and re assemble, paying careful attention to not damaging the seals. We might even put one or two small packages of desiccant inside them to absorb any remaining moisture. Thanks agan VST_Man.
