vmgtlexi 0 Posted August 26, 2011 What is a "double scan CCD" and do I want one if I can afford it?

vmgtlexi 0 Posted August 26, 2011 OK, do I need WDR? What's the benefit? This is for home use in a generally safe area, but a big city where crime is always possible.
vmgtlexi 0 Posted August 26, 2011 Also, is "Double Density CCD" the same as "Double Scan CCD"?
Birdman Adam 0 Posted August 26, 2011 Well WDR is used when you have high-contrast situations. For example, you have a camera looking at the entrance to a store with glass doors and windows. You need to be able to see the people's faces, but most regular cameras would show the faces way too dark because it is compensating for the bright outside light. WDR cameras 'even out' the contrast, so you can see the bright and dark areas just as well.
