Monitoring GeoVison IP Bullet Cams

Recommended Posts

I've just got 3 GeoVision GV-BL110D IP bullet cameras. I've attached them to my network & set IP addresses. Can view their streams through a web browser OK.

I want to see them all in an app that will let me selectively view, record & play back. There is an app included with the cams called DMMultiView (that's the name on the installed icon) AKA GeoVision Multi View, according to the installer.

When I launch this app it wants a username & password. No idea what to use there. admin/admin, admin/password, anthing else I can think of, doesn't work and there is ZERO documentsation on the CD.

Web searches turn up plenty of manuals but nothing about the initial logon.

My first venture into IP CCTV world, & I'm lost.

Any takers?

You need to install Geovision GV-NVR on a machine to record and view the cameras.

Multiview is used to view that machine and is clunky at best.

I think GV-NVR is free if your using Geovision IP cameras.

Here is the link for downloading Geovision GV-NVR - it is free for geovision IP cameras. May record and display till 32 IP chennels. Videoanalitics on board.

ftp://romsat.ua/pub/Program%20CCTV/GeoVision%20NVR%208.5%20English/

under the link you will find SW (DVR.zip - this is both nvr and dvr sw) and Manuals in english.

GeoVision 8.4 is both the NVR and DVR now, you can choose to install it as an NVR at the beginning of installation.

So just download 8.4 and you will be set.

Be warned though you will need a super computer, 8.4 is heavy.

Curious what you will think when installed and using.

I am using Blue Iris with a mix of IP Cams and one is a Geovision BL-320. I like the images from that camera quite a bit and I have actually had very good response from Geovision tech support. There was a bug with the auto mode for night that made the video really noisy. They sent me a new firmware build that is beta but fixed the problem.

Generally happy with Blue iris but it can also be a resource hog.
