Soundy 1 Posted September 5, 2011 It means it hasn't detected a hard disk. If there was one, or is supposed to be one, then it's probably failed.
Jamessj 0 Posted September 5, 2011 so it hasnt deteced a HDD for everything or jus that one camera?
Soundy 1 Posted September 5, 2011 There is only one hard disk for all cameras.
Jamessj 0 Posted September 6, 2011 but does that mean it's not recording for any of the cameras or just that one where it says no hdd
higg 0 Posted September 6, 2011 Not recording any of the cameras. The location of the warning doesn't necessarily correlate to that specific camera.

tomcctv 190 Posted September 6, 2011 sounds like you have bought a DVR with no HD installed.
rory 0 Posted September 6, 2011 Not recording any of the cameras. The location of the warning doesn't necessarily correlate to that specific camera. how is this recording when it says NO HDD: http://www.cctvfootage.com/video/Color-Bullet-and-AvTech-DVR;search: Thats my video, it wasn't recording on the DVR at the time. I had the output into a capture card and used Amcap to record the video. Reason for that was to get the best highest quality I could from that particular DVR as the recorded video quality was horrible, and the network video quality was even worse. It wasnt to show the recorded video, but instead to show [closer to] what it would look like on a local monitor. As mentioned, NO HDD means there is no Hard Drive in the DVR, or the DVR software did not find one. BTW, here is the original AVI for that video (54MB) http://www.mediafire.com/?s9c52rn1rxwd029
SEANHAWG 1 Posted September 6, 2011 Simple answer: It aint recording your video. You need a hard drive.
sidoffice 0 Posted September 12, 2011 quite simply if you see no video on screen on any of the channels and you have NO HDD in generally top right corner.. there is no recording happening at all.
