GV-NVR and new Dell Win 7 computer

Recommended Posts

I have installed GV-NVR 8.4 on new dell win 7 box. When I run the program and try to add cameras I notice that the window that opens doesn't show the buttons to add camera. I tryed everything I could think of. Just for a test I installed on an old XP laptop and the window to add cameras contained the add camera buttons and I was able to add the new geovision Fisheye IP camera and operation appeared normal with all the other menus functioning. What gives. Is this program really compatable with Win 7 Dell Box? Is there a software patch or proceedure I am missing?

I have never worked with that system... but maybe the button doesnt appear until it has detected a camera? Can you log into the camera directly or ping the camera on the network to make sure it is showing up? Also does the program use Internet Explorer to open the window. Although it says its compatible with Windows 7 you may want to make sure it is compatable with the version of IE you have installed on that machine. I have had issues compatibility issues with IE 9 and some security brands.
