vincenttor 0 Posted September 9, 2011 Thanks for the welcome, its more of a hobby actually and especially viewing on a distance over the internet. we got a house in France and we have setup this last summer 4 camera's there. bought a dvr card for the computer but its not great, it does have a nice option that i can use the 4 cameras with windows XP now that uses less bandwith. but for the camera system here in the netherlands i have a 8 channel dvr card with a techwell chip on it and idvr4000 software. many problems and the CPU shoots up to 60-90% with a few cameras. did a little research on the forum and read about dahue cards that they compress instead of use the CPU anyone have some tips, i also opened a topic about this under residential with more explanation.
