dogpatch 0 Posted September 12, 2011 Hello all, I need some help with a residential install. Home: 2000 sqft, 2 levels, with attached 2 car garage Detached garage: 600 sqft located 200ft behind the home. Property is surrounded by woods, 4 acre lot size. House is sited 100 ft from private road. Desires a cctv system, with motion, h.264 and blackberry access. Uncertain about alarm inputs. My feelings: 2 cameras inside the home (front entrance and back door) 1 inside the attached garage (back door) 1 inside the detached garage, long cable run or wireless? 2 cameras with crossed fields of view covering the front and road (may need 3) 2 cameras with crossed fields covering the back of the house 1 camera looking at the detached garage from the home 9 or 10 cameras so probably need to jump to a 16 ch dvr? I need a call on what cameras and dvr would work well. Lets say the budget is $1000 for equipment. Thanks, Steve
larry 2 Posted September 12, 2011 Hello and welcome to the forum. You may have to increase your budget some. A $1000 for 10 cameras and a 16 ch DVR may be asking too much. An extra $500 added may not even be enough; but that is just an assumption on my part.
dogpatch 0 Posted September 12, 2011 Thanks Larry. The $1000 is based on inexperience... if the cameras are say $150 each, dvr $350, cables etc $200. Then 2k is probably a better number. Steve
