I know I can with Vigil - I could just put in the same camera settings in each of 32 channels (in fact, I have one set up this way, one channel doing regular motion record, the other on time-lapse recording one frame every hour). Cameras have limited number of connections in unicast........ You would have to switch to multicast to record 32 streams from one camera but I am not sure if that is a valid test either. Just to be clear, I've never actually done this... never needed to. But I got the idea the OP is just looking to test the NVR's handling of heavy stream traffic, not the cameras or the network, so I figured this might be an option... if not with one camera, maybe three or four would be enough to load up a 16-channel NVR, rather than needing a full 16.
