lizmclaughlin27 0 Posted September 15, 2011 I recently put up extra cameras which required me to get an 8 channel DVR. Loaded it all up and away we went. All was good for about 2 months. The DVR was recording away. I even managed to take footage of the DVR onto my PC. Dvr still recorded away. Then suddenly, I couldnt get it to record. I fiddled about a bit through the menus and I got it started again. But, this was short lived. It stopped again after ony about 15 - 20 minutes (I cant be exact). This keeps happening. I seem to cut the power and it starts again but then it stops. It says the HDD is "ok" and there is 1000gb free. Where do I go from here?? Is there something silly I am missing here??? Any help Please.
Soundy 1 Posted September 15, 2011 Check the settings for an option to overwrite the drive (also known as cycle record, recycle record, etc.) - some units come with this disabled and so will stop recording once the drive is full. Enabling this option will allow the DVR to continuously overwrite the oldest video.
lizmclaughlin27 0 Posted September 16, 2011 The overwrite is enabled. It seems to be only recording for 15-20 minutes. Anything else possible????
Neutech 0 Posted September 18, 2011 Whats make and model of DVR ? Stops recording, can you still view footage on playback from previous recording?
