jrstasio 0 Posted September 30, 2011 I am trying to provide support to one of my companies properties, and the goal here is to get the last 90 days of surveillance off the DVR unit onto a USB drive. I am attempting to provide instruction to one of the workers on how to do so, and we keep running into a problem. Following the instructions in the manual,(found here http://www.honeywellvideo.com/documents/HRDP_H.264_DVR_Series_User_Guide.pdf ), you hit backup and then plug usb in, then hit scan. It will then detect two devices, the first being the DVD recorder, and the second the flash drive (But only says Device 1 and Device 2) We then select the date range and cameras, and then click estimate. The estimated size is around 26 GB's, the flash drive is a 32GB fat32 drive. The instructions then say to click export. After we click export, it tells us to insert a blank DVD. Doh. We are not able to figure out how to specify which device we want to use. I am doing all this support over the phone so I can't play with the unit myself. Without the flash drive plugged in, the unit reports only one device detected, and with it plugged in 2 devices, so I assuming that the second device must be the USB drive. Another thing, is if instead of export, you choose AUTO USB BACKUP, it will take you to a new menu, that does not allow you to choose the dates, and will list the target USB drive with its size. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated and I thank you for your time!
danger_e 0 Posted October 5, 2011 After you scan for devices, you have to select the device. Click on scan, once the scan is complete and the bottom area says "Two devices detected" the area between TARGET and SCAN will be populated with the device type. Default is the DVD drive. Click on the device (in between TARGET and SCAN) to cycle through the devices, it should change from DVD to the External USB Device. Auto-USB back up is a type of simultaneous recording. This function is for recording to your local (internal) hard drive and to an external USB drive at the same time. Please let me know if this works for you.
