Baxall Pyramid data over LAN - is there a solution? UK based

Recommended Posts

Hi,

i need some help here if anyone has any suggestions.

I need to operate a Baxall pyramid keyboard over a LAN network, I currently have tested this theory using 2 x Lantronix UDS1100 units which will convert 485 to IP and back again.

When testing, the data had passed through but the matrix did not respond.

I realised that pyramid (echelon) runs at 9800bps and there is no setting on Lantronix for this speed, nearest is 9600bps. After speaking to various tech supports around UK such as BBV,Meyertech, DM, it became obvious that Baxall (now no longer) did not integrate their systems willinglly and therefore i am finding it difficult to get hold of a protocol converter to use as an alternative.

For information I have tested the following:

1- Setup a keyboard direct to a reciever, this works fine, able to control the PTZ and all auxilliaries

2 - Introduced the lantronix UDS1100 (on the bench), Lantronix units connected, data passed and reciever LED recieved data however reciever did not respond (as if wrong address)

If anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate these, either some information on the data transmitted of the pyramid echelon ie speed, data bits, parity etc, or any suggestions on conversions of pyramid to other protocols which may work over Lantronix or similar devices.

Thanks

Steve
