Nubix 8LT Problem

Hi Guys,

 

Having some trouble setting up my Nubix 8LT dvr for remote viewing. I have set it up correctly with the port forwarding and what not (i have set up other dvrs already without any problem but this is first time with this type of dvr). I can view it locally with no problem but i cannot get it done remotely. Does this dvr support remote viewing? What makes me think this is that in the ip settings for the dvr there is no option for a port number. Only ip,subnet and gateway. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A quick fix would be to put it on the DMZ.

Just add the dvr ip to the dmz list in the router?

Yes, its like being connected direct to a modem. The DVR is read only embedded OS so no worries.

Normally we like to forward the port but if you get stuck this is one way to test it.

Also you could test the ports from the location using this site tool

If you have XP and want to do it another way, goto Start, Run, type cmd and hit enter, then type TELNET IP PORT and hit enter - where IP is the IP address/ DDNS name and Port is your port to test.

 

if its port 80 though try changing to another one as your ISP might be blocking it.

Right, take the port forward out for now, then just use the DMZ.
